New Year, New Goals for Beyond the Veil TTRPG | 2026 Plans & Update

Three members of the Beyond the Veil TTRPG team seated at a convention in 2025. From left to right, Dan, Alex, and Paul are wearing black polo shirts with name badges, smiling in front of a large yellow ‘2026’ display and a busy exhibition hall backdrop.

Let’s start with an obligatory Happy New Year to all you Wrenegades out there. It’s been a great year for us and we hope 2026 brings nothing but joy, happiness, and flawless logistics to all of your gaming sessions (Ok, let’s be realistic, 2 out of those 3 are at least achievable…).

With 2025 firmly in the rear view mirror we wanted to reflect (see what I did there…) on what a whirlwind of activity it was and how it ultimately has informed our plans for the coming 12 months.

Conventions & Community Growth

From the seed of an idea so many years ago, we were blown away to actually be exhibiting at UKGE in 2025, it was our first ever convention as exhibitors and oh how we threw ourselves in at the deep end! Nothing can truly prepare you for the sheer volume of people, buzz of excitement, logistical headaches, and niche instances that you just don’t see when attending as a punter. All of that said, we had a blast… meeting gamers from all walks of life, and with different genre preferences and interests, was truly an eye-opener and each interaction we had has helped to shape what we want to achieve with Beyond the Veil. They say that no plan survives contact with the enemy, well in that case the adverse must be true: All plans are improved with new friends! 🧀

From that particular gauntlet of fire we headed North to Tabletop Scotland ♥️

While much smaller than UKGE we instantly fell in love with the event. From the organisers to the volunteers, to the attendees, we made so many new friends and contacts that it was potentially a better event for us than UKGE!! Admittedly, parts of that will come from the adage that practice makes perfect, and now… 2 whole events in… we are veterans of the convention circuit 🤣

Coming up this year, we’ll be exhibiting at Tabletop Gaming Live at Doncaster Racecourse this February and are actively exploring other options for the rest of the year to keep the momentum up.

Website, Art, and Development Updates | Updates galore!

So what does all of that community interaction and playtest really mean? Well, for starters, we’ve overhauled our website to align to our new refined art style and to improve the general flow for people visiting, whether for the first time or to stay up to date on development.

Talking of art, we’ve benefited fantastically from our inhouse artist (shoutout for Wrenegade Paul!) for the past few years but have had to accept the fact that no one person could satisfy all of the art briefs needed for a full core release. For that we are scoping out artists who fit our look and feel ready to commission some additional pieces to bolster our Kickstarter ambitions and showcase what we have planned for the final product.

New Content, Investigations, and Actual Play Plans

We recently released a remastered version of our festive investigation: Silent Nightmare. Getting content into the hands of the community is one of our primary focuses, it helps explore the lore, develop investigator advancements, showcase the mechanics, and define the entities we want to put into our universe… so we plan to keep doing that as much as we can. From overhauls of our original starter kit ‘Shadows at the Rectory’, to the finalisation of the long awaited ‘An Uncertain Mystery’ we’ll have some long form content dropping this year as well as a host of short, one-shot style investigations to help tables explore our universe fully. As always, digital versions will always be released as free pdfs via our store, with discord members getting early access to draft versions ahead of everyone else!

Seeing the system in action is a great way to see whether the vibes fit your table, so this year we hope to finally launch our own actual play series, Tales from Beyond the Veil on both Twitch and Youtube with podcast versions available for those who prefer to listen instead. Until then, be sure to check out the content from our friends over at Infinite Monkey Tales who recently streamed content featuring Beyond the Veil.

And all of that while continuing to hone the development of Beyond the Veil while maintaining the ongoing overhead of daily life… yikes.

2026 is going to be huge, stay lucky Wrenegades!
